the three cds and two vinyls currently rotating @ my home (whenever i'm not making musick): alva noto - prototypes (cd) - imho alva noto is one of the best of the clicks and cuts fraction. i love the funkyness of his minimal arrangements and the pure quality of the sounds... astrobotnia 1 - (cd) i wanna kill everyone, satan is good, satan is my pal" - they bring back some much needed fun into idm morton subotnick - touch/a sky of cloudless sulphur. (cd) - yes, i am very much into electroacoustics and i am a great fan of subotnick. although "the wild bull" and "silver apples on the moon" are better known, i prefer these two recordings (which are on one cd, together with "gestures" - unfortunately i have only the stereo-cd version, as there exists a 5.1 dvd version on mode records), especially the rythmic parts in "a sky..." they reach a fuckedupness and extatic density which i only encountered on some of coils best moments and the later ae stuff ae - gantz graf - well, we were not supposed to bring up ae again, but: i had the mp3s of this release for a while now, and although i LOVE the tracks, i never was completely satisfied with the sound... now i finally got the vinyl, and it sounds soooo much better (even than the cd, which i also listened to, to compare) it seems the vinyl was mastered much better and much more precise than the cd... hans platzgumer and catriona shaw - miss me lp - electronica meets rnb. coproduced by g.potutznik (g.deluxxe, etc.) and cowritten by platzgumer/shaw. a very nice lp, even if it took me some time to get into it. in the beginning i was irritated by the coldness... but now i love it. the future of popmuzik so, not being in highschool any longer did not change me being a nerd and trying to impress my teachers... lol, hidari At 16:46 23.08.2002 -0400, Oneaphex@aol.com wrote:
