Thomas, I pay good money to HEAR artists because the music gives me PLEASURE, could care less if they act on stage for me too. HEARD aphex twin play in 1996, didn't see him because he was BELOW the stage, but it made my whole night because the sound/music was incredible. Maybe you've missed my previous posts but I don't see an electronic performance as a rock concert. Many performers are trying to create an ambience and be the background music to people getting together and socialising, that's why they'd rather be out of the spot light and accompanying the visuals. Its a different GENRE why can't it have a different 'performance'? I don't see that as arrogance, maybe its something YOU don't like but an artist that socialises with the audience and wants us to enjoy ourselves and our surroundings is not an arrogant asshole in my eyes. I don't expect a performing monkey sweating for me to entertain me. concrete cookie ----- Original Message ----- From: Thomas Millar <tmillar@comcast.net> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Saturday, August 17, 2002 2:13 AM Subject: Re: [idm] performing/my brain is BIGGER
