Overall a really brilliant evening. Good security, adequate parking,
relatively organized venue, neat decor for a downtown loft.
Highlights- Richard Devine absolutely melting the walls for 60 minutes.
Hob-nobbing with a who's who in the Southern California electronic music
scene.
Complaints- minor ones, but a couple.
Both Chris Clark and LFO opted for 45 minute dj sets. Would've MUCH prefered
to hear them play live. Chris went new school acid-y hardcore breaks and
Mark Bell very generic medium paced techno.
L'usine getting squeezed out of his performance because he was the last one
on the set list and everybody prior to him in the evening ran long. Jeff
played for about 20 minutes from 3:30AM to 3:50.
Both stages were a tad on the too loud side.
Ongoing question between me and my friends- How long will RD get into his
set before he breaks out something from Phoenecia/Soul Oddity/Takeshi
Muto/Jeswa/Josh and Rom? We put the over/under at about 10 minutes. Sure
enough...
