If anyone has taken IDM into the mainstream it's Bjork. Seeing her perform with Matmos on David Letterman was a real eye opener for me. Personally I love it. Mark Bell, Thomas Knak, Matmos, Plaid, and Herbert have all collaborated/produced with her over the span of her last two albums. That's quite a cast.
