I believe the person is trying to do an unauthorized remix of a song he
didn't record himself.
What he needs to do is see whether the vocal is equal in both channels and
about midrange, and if so, there are a few plugins which will "strip" the
non-vocals away.
The only problem is that it pretty much never works. Whoops! Usually
people doing remixes get ahold of the vocal tracks by contacting the label
or artist in question.
