haven't been following this sound for a while now but ones that are a bit older that i have/had that i like(d) are: electric company "studio city" (island) phthalocyanine "navy warship;" and "25 tracks fer 1 track" (phthalo and planet ? respectively) ?-ziq "brace yourself" ep (planet ?) rom=pari "view" (subrosa) leafcutter john "microcontact" (planet mu) (this is more on the autechre-confield weirdness tip but has some similar qualities) lesser/kid-606 "split" (vinyl communications) (has some gabba tracks from 606 on the 2nd half, crazy skipping weird broken (literally) beats from lesser on the 1st half though) venetian snares "songs about my cats" (planet ?) (if you don't already have it) on a side note i might recommend jamie lidell's "muddlin gear" which is by no means drill n bass but has the same appeal to me, completely warped sound and a disregard for genre or accessibility. generally stuff on planet mu is pretty reliable for that sound, as is some of the stuff on phthalo (although my experiences with phthalo are minimal). m.mercer :: design + sound http://www.matthewmercer.com/ _________________________________________________________________ Join the world?s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
