I wouldn't really bother buying AMG's published material. You can find the majority of the reviews on the web, which makes up the bulk of the book. Not that their reviews are extremely insightful or helpful, either. The bulk of the book is the reviews, not actual commentary or articles on electronic music. Additionally, although their categorization of musical styles and subsequent definitions are mildly interesting, they don't provide much actual knowledge about what it exactly is you're looking for. About the only things I found worthwhile in this book were the musical timelines and essays at the end, which comprised about 30 pages of an otherwise massive tome. There are better books on electronic music history and culture, if you put in the time to find them whether it be on amazon's homepage or at your local library.
