I won't comment on the All Music Guide b/c I had a lot to do with it, but State of Bass was a pretty good read: not spectacular, but very knowledgeable. Fortunately, it stayed away from the high-falutin' kind of audio dissemination that quickly becomes painful to read. Good discography too, broken down by era after every chapter. I remember being disappointed by the focus on later jungle instead of prime '92 hardcore, but there is quite a bit of history on how hardcore/jungle all came together (a bit like Dan Sicko breaking down the state of Detroit before Mojo/Cybotron). John NP: Panacea - Underground Superstardom --> great for reliving those heady hardcore days... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
