So there's a new comp out on Irritant records called "Welcome to my world".
It's fucking RAD! It's a great mix of new cutup hardcore/breakcore, wierd
midi songs, and some softer pretty stuff. Highlights are definately Random
Number, Duran Duran Duran (great name!!!), Cdatakill, and Noise Creator's MC
Hammer homage. but that's a bit unfair to the others as it's all great!
Also of major note are new albums by:
El-p "fantastic Damage" some call it full of noise, I'd say it's closer to
being the first underground prog hip hop album. Crazy use of the equipment
that so many of us use, and do so in a totally different way.
Venetian Snares "Higgians Ultra-low... glue.. funk..hits..." Long title,
brilliant album. Definately an expansion of his sound. Several tracks tear
it up in the usual style with a bit more experimentation ruling out over the
plain breaks. Several unusually new sounding tracks, some brilliant jazzy
stuff, an ambient track, and a SFX influenced melodic number to round out
the album. All should ascertain a copy...
