First off, I'm a friend of Keith's so I'm a bit biased)
I think that Hrvatski's sound is sort of known. Have you heard the Hrvatski
so called "remix" at the end of 606's "Down with the scene" or his awesome
piece on the American Breakbeat comp? If so you know that Vat makes fucking
incredibly cut up breakbeat stuff that bounces fast and heartily through
much of the equipment he has. One might call it idm hardcore, but that's
all there is.
He makes the music that we should be listening to.
By this I mean that vat is involved with a huge amount of music in a variety
of styles and genres. His music is an amalgamation of all these styles,
with songs having multiple sections, and moods, and styles and some songs
have lots of 200 bpm beats, and some songs have none. Some songs have both.
Some pieces rely heavily on traditional equipment (guits, accordions) with
others on digital noise and dsp fuckaroos.
Vat is an experimentalist whose music is fucking rock solid (IMHO).
