I just got word that Frank Tovey - aka Fad Gadget - passed away yesterday
due to a sudden stroke.
I was a big Fad Gadget fan back in the 80s, and he was definately a big
influence on a lot of the current "synthcore"/"electroclash" artists like
Adult., Solvent, Lowfish, etc. After a decade or so away from electronic
music, Tovey had recently revived the Fad Gadget name and had started
playing live again, so I was really hoping he would hit North America for
some dates, and perhaps record some new material.
Very sad news indeed. :(
