I get it now... that track has really stuck out since the first time I heard vespertine, and now I know why. It always bugged me how the synths and beats on the rest of the album were so intricate and painstakingly programmed, all spaced-out and crackly and ethereal, and then suddenly there was this one track that sounded like the presets on a $35 casio. Which is not to say it's a bad thing, it's just quite obviously a whole different compositional approach from the rest of the album. I wonder why she decided to throw it in there?
