basically, anything on the Kompakt label: www.kompakt-net.de I would also recommend anything on the Profan label (distributed by Kompakt) which includes mostly releases by Wolfgang Voigt (aka Mike Ink aka Love Inc aka Gas aka Discoschliefen 2000 aka M:I:5 etc.etc.) and Reinhard Voigt (aka Sweet Reinhard aka Sturm aka Pentax etc etc). As a Profan starting point I highly recommend the compilation CD released by Kompakt a few years back... it's a really great cross-section of what the label has released in the past. The J?rgen Paape 12" "Reval" is essential listening from the label. Thomas Brinkmann's releases as ester brinkmann (mostly on the suppos? label) are quite good, especially "totes rennen." The orange vinyl releases on Ernst (mostly women's names as titles) are great and the "Rosa" CD which compiles select tracks is worthwhile too. His "Corvette" 12" (supposedly made with Markus Schmickler of Pluramon) is really good fun as well. Also, to bring things full circle, I would recommend the Studio 1 Variationen release which features Thomas Brinkmann reworking Mike Ink's Studio 1 recordings (which are also essential). The Ware label, run by Mathias Schaffh?user, has released some great material as well and tends to be a little less austere when compared to Profan and Kompakt. His own material is pretty good too. There are a few compilations of the Ware label called Warenkorb which are worth checking out. these should all be decent starting points.... hope this helps _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
