hip-hop! That is my most direct link from idm. To a lesser extent, jazz, but straight jazz. Jimmy Smith, for example. I can't say that my vested interest in idm drove me to jazz, but organ music this unexplored interest long before I understood the potential of electronic music. Electro-acoustic music is another one, but again, I can't place it in context. And I stopped listening to classical music as much. I think my discovery of idm is directly responsible. It sort of makes classical sound outdated. I can still listen to 20th century though. That is still interesting enough.

I really can't say that music affects my world view, but it certainly does affect my life. Reading a Noam Chomsky essay takes care of the "world view" aspect; music, if anything, takes these thoughts away. Maybe adds to them. I can't really answer that one. Yeah.
