Well, pads are those long, chorused notes that have a slow attack
rate. They're usually in the background, but when they're in the
foreground, they can emulate something like a swell of stringed instruments.
As far as listening for them, just play a Proem song, or two. Those things
you're hearing that aren't beats or sound effects? Those be pads.
