I remember buying the Ninja tune 10yrs of Zen 6LP set for the nice price of 35GBP. It was well worth the deal as (if I remember rightly) it had more than the standard vinyl release and also the CD pack... An excellent package. One of the few times I have preferred Vinyl over CD. The worst I ever did was the original pressing of 'ISDN' by FSOL. This got returned for an exchange straight away, cause the pressing was very quiet and noisy. Now I am not so sure, because the 2nd and 3rd times I tried it was the same result. By the time I was desparate enough to buy the CD, the tracks had changed... I'm not trying to prove a point for or against either format, but I think it's a case of careful, informed decisions. I just don't fall for gimmicks anymore, irregardless of format. And 5-6 LP's for an album of music is sheer stupidity. Keeps those presses busy, I suppose... ----- Original Message ----- From: "M Mercer" <vletrmx@hotmail.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Monday, February 18, 2002 9:57 PM Subject: Re: [idm] geogaddi, and absurd packaging in general
