you more or less have the "track listing" ... this release is mixed in a
similar way to Richie Hawtin's "DE9: Closer to the Edit" in which you're not
so much hearing DJed tracks, but rather elements of releases from the
Forcelab backcatalogue, all sampled, looped, reworked and layered. I don't
have very many of the Forcelab 12" releases (just one actually) so I can't
really tell whether the tracks are in tact at all, or if they've been
completely recontextualized amongst one another. In any case, there is no
real track listing on the disc, just the catalogue numbers and titles, as
well as the names of the artists whose work appear in one form or another
over the course of playback.
All in all it's a solid album even if it drags a bit at times. I would
recommend the "Montreal Smoked Meat" compilation first, if only for the
Akufen track ("zingers!")... when in doubt, Akufen wins. :-)
