btw, i live in mexico and there is a lot of other music here besides
those bums from nortec... i wish people wouldn't always think of them
when mexico is mentioned, they have nothing to do with life in mexico
really.
i think they really suck and so does anyone here with a half a brain to
their name...
also a couple of years ago i saw the nortec bozos at the unionfest and
they were playing to an empty field... everyone hated them, although
playing to an empty lot kind of seems like the best thing they may have
ever done as far as i can recall...
my favorite act from here is called alcachofa, that's like that plant
you eat the leaves off one at a time slathed in butter... the leaves i
mean... these guys used to play some nice electrosalsa... i mean real
honest to goodness salsa with some electronic elements... or sometimes
just mixing electronic songs and salsa songs at a small club called La
Perla in the downtown area, this was a couple of years back... it
sounded lovely and i danced with a pretty girl...
another nice group of people is parador analogo from which some members
sometimes played nice soft lounge music on sundays at a club in a part
of town known as "la condesa" which is kind of like coconut grove in
miami (u.s.), well, maybe a little more tolerable...
i'll try and post more on mexican music... as soon as i get my
bearings...
