hi all. i almost never post on here (though some of you may know me as
madcow from soulseek), but speaking of "idm fugazi" i just have to mention a
young new band out of new york called the liars. they released their debut
album, "the threw us all in a trench and stuck a monument on top", on gern
blandsten last year. i first saw them opening for les savy fav (more idm
fugazi!) in december (i think). i missed half the set (doh), but decided to
research them further. the album is an absolute monster, and you just have
to see them live - absolute chaos. i saw them again last thursday. i have
to admit i wasn't 100% sold at first, so give them ample time. even so i'm
sure they're not for everyone. i believe there is a review of the album on
allmusic.com, and a review of a live set on popmatters.com. anywho, check
the liars out!
