If you don't consider this list a "community" or a "scene", then why do
you attempt to initiate discussions with the people here (as opposed to
just sitting around waiting for show announcments and ebay spam)? If you
find BoC overrated, but have never actually read any reviews of their
music or know anyone outside of this list that has heard of the term
'IDM', then what are you using as a basis for your argument that they are
overrated? Overrated by who? Listmembers like me? I'm just a music fan
- I don't rate anything. If you don't dislike Boards of Canada, then why
do you continue to distance yourself from their music and their fans by
making snide remarks such as the one you just made about how their music
is something you only listen to when you aren't in the mood for anything?
I wasn't responding only to you, but to a cluster of anti-BoC posts that
were made in response to a bunch of pro-BoC posts that were made in
response to the announcement of their new album dropping in Feb.
If you weren't trying to give us listmembers (the "scene") the impression
that you were more "indie-r than thou" with your eye-rolling and "psssh!
They are overrated!" attitude, what exactly -was- the point of making your
original (unsolicited) comment about them?
