A.F.R.I Studios / Aerospace Sounswise / Alejandra and Aeron (released date 07/01/2002)
For soundfreaks and the experimental electronic fan are those CD's from this Spanish label (Lucky Kitchen) certainly worth a try.
BulBul (10/12/2001)
Crazy mix between up-tempo rhythms and mechanic sounding loops descended from a bicycle chain, a pulled down bicycle-stand and so on. Industrial, experimental dance disk. With an incredible cool package
Francisco Lopez / Joe Colley (released in 01/12/2001)
Third part in the Antifrost series "extreme sound souvenirs". The travel recordings from Lopez are worked out by both of them to very intense soundscapes.
Ultra Red (21/01/2002)
The renowned Fat Cat records released with this CD a clear political statement, a few sentence from the inlayer to get a bit the picture;
"La economia Nueva" is composed entirely from source recordings made at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, US / Mexico border (10/12/200) United Nations international human rights day. Demonstrations held that day in opposition to "Operation Gatekeeper". This massive militarzation of the border between California and Baja California, Mexico.
Massimo (released in 10/12/2001)
PC compositions who are hypnotic, nice booming and abrupt changes from tempo or style, but every time coming back to the trance - noise pieces.
Si-Cut.db
Douglas Benfort takes dub as basis and build with dry minimal percussion songs who fits good and are constructive very interesting. For me one of the better CD's this year (written on 31/12/01 ?). As-well danceable as a cool headphone album.
Jonesco(released in 07/01/2002)
The result is spooky, distanced and because of this elusive effect just charming. Very promising debut on this young label.
Motion
Motion's debut CD after an split release with Matmos on Fat Cat and a split in the e-rmx remix project with e4 antenna farm. Beat less sample collages.
cray(released in 12/2001)
As opposite to the very fluent Si-cut.db CD on Bip Hop is this Cray (alias the Australian Ross Healy) much more experimental. Sounds are used arbitrary and traditional instruments or structures are been avoided.
Lambent / Duodecimo
Lambent is from Japan and have his side from the vinyl live recorded. The analogue pieces are after recording no more digital affected. The two English sound collectors who are Duodecimo have an other method. The recorded all kinds of surrounding sound with the minidisk at the countryside of Dartmoor. This found sounds are worked up and edited with the sampler, DJ mixer and all kind of audio equipment
