i'm not too hot on the Owls album, or Joan of Arc, but CAP N' JAZZ still
stands as some of the most beautifully raw and honest music i've ever heard.
to those unfamiliar this is not IDM. it is a guitar band out of DC area
(right?) that did some shotty recordings back in the day which eventually
got released as a double disc. it's like free jazz with pop sensibility.
the songs arc and crash majestically. the singer strains and pushes his
voice beyond breaking and hovers there in breathless wonder... of highest
recommendation (take that OtherMusic! ha!).
it breaks my heart everytime i listen to it.
