I would advise a rega p3 or planar 3, but I just bought a systemdek IIx 900
for £140 It has a good rb250 arm (rega same as one on p2 planar2) these deks
go for less and although old if in good nick are nearly as good (design
based on and little different apart from rewired arm) the audionote TT1
(what hifi best buy £600-1k turntable this year!) you will however need a
decent amp to get the best results but again for £150 you can get a
blindinng amp if you know what your doing.
think this should be on another list so I wont go on but budget systems can
be audiophile.
