Y'know how something is so good and personal that comes out and you almost get that feeling like you don't want to share it with anyone else? This is a release like that for me. Think Pole's alter-ego when he's messing around with records and no studio gear and you will get an idea of what Jeck sounds similar to. I read that on this particular recording, he uses around 40 portable German turntables (at any one given time) to create his rich soundscapes of lock grooves, cuts from razor-blades (from Jeck), and calculated placements of superglue (also from Jeck). Highlight : I probably don't even have to say it if you've heard this, but... "Little Drummer Boy". Possibly my favorite album of the year! joe. Friggin incredible. This is intense stuff; layers and layers of sound sources fading in and out. A bit like better Dead Voices on Air. Wire magazine recently had an article about Jeck's work and described him as one to watch.
