LOL! seriously though, I think Eno is generalizing way too much, however; it's nice to hear a dismissal of electronic music from the completely polar opposite of the tired "but it's not live" or "it's all just computers." At least Eno understands that it is simply another tool, like a flute or timpani. "attend to details at an infinitely fine level whilst ignoring the macro" I think is a fairly decent argument about any problem that gearhead types can develop, same can be said for music fashionistas with their squaking guitars. Personally, all my favortie records manage to completely transcend my very well-school, technical brain and simply give me a macroscopic view of the artist's vision.
