<<"Ending (an ascent)" - Brian Eno. Painfully beautiful. Will put you in a hypnotic, warm state.>> Another friggin' *killer* Eno piece/CD for gettin' your sleep on is _Necroli_. It's an hour-long loop of various permutations on a simple Phrygian pentatonic scale (okay, so I'm no music theorist, but the liner notes do mention "Phrygian"), in an extremely sluggish deep vibraphone-ish timbre. *Zonk* --like a friggin' horse tranq. But avoid "Maxin' Clockin' Z's" by Shootyz Groove: despite the title, it totally rocks out. Oh, and of course there's John Cage's 4'33" on repeat... That's lame, I know, but somebody had to say it, goshfriggit. And all these people are sayin' like SAWII 'n' shit, but I find that to be jarring as frig at times-- but I am a light sleeper. Like I always say, it's not ambient till the last beats... erm... go away? Frig this, I'm licked. np: Failure _Fantastic Planet_ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
