while i haven't heard the 4th installation yet, they are all pretty interesting. the first one is the least successful, although it works well as isolated tracks (phonem, schneiderTM, marumari, massimo, etc.)... it doesn't have the same continuity that many of the following comps have. the 2nd one is probably my favorite so far, with tracks from warmdesk, arovane, b.fleischmann, etc.... the 3rd one continues in the same vein, with a lot of slightly more experimental sounds, less typical IDM-sounding stuff, more off-the-beaten-path soundtracks, etc. ok, i realize this probably isn't saying a lot, but i would that they are all worthwhile, especially 2 and 3 (and probably 4, though i haven't heard it).

the new noto is awesome. i haven't made it all the way through yet but it is like a more developed version of "prototypes," definitely in the same spirit. it's more active overall than "prototypes" (and certainly more than any of his previous releases like "kerne")... with an almost downright accessible sound at times, getting more regular and rhythmic in places. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
