[please excuse a recent convert a moment to gush on a new found love of
autechre as he sips morning coffee]
confield has changed the way i experience music.
maybe the most challening (yet, eventually accessible) piece of music i've
ever forced myself through. in the end, track 8 was my gateway.
the challenge to eventually find and extract the human elements amidst a
seemingly heartless clutter of texture has been a eye opening adventure. in
terms of people making "objective" music (the soundtrack to the world if
there were no humans here to listen to it, music devoid of any ego
attachment/afirmament) this is frightening.
music allows us to create tangible representations of thought. autechre
have allowed us to experience states of being previously unimagined and i
thank them.
