Anyone have any idea why they don't use shoutcast technology to stream low bitrate mp3s instead of real audio? I think with the "out_lame" mp3 plugin for winamp, I believe one could record a streaming mp3 broadcast in real time to any bitrate they wanted. I guess I could see that as a reason in and of itself why they wouldn't use streaming mp3 technology. But, who would get hurt financially by having a bunch of solid steel mix mp3s floating around the internet? I think I have most of the shows that are floating around on audiogalaxy and morpheus, but they are badly butchered (usually only one dj at a time) and often skip. Not to mention I can't seem to match up playlists for them anywhere on Ninjatune.net. anyone else out there trying to record or collect solid steel shows? ===== --------------------- Check out io on 365.com: over 8 hours worth of ambient, IDM, dub and downtempo music. http://www.live365.com/stations/278479 __________________________________________________ Terrorist Attacks on U.S. - How can you help?
