uwe schmidt, aka atom heart does a strange variety of music. his early works
as lassigue bendthaus/atom heart were more techno and industrial orientated.
eventually both projects evolved into a series of different electronics
projects tied together by the fact that uwe schmidt programs all the music.
his stuff with burnt friedmann known as flanger is more jazz orientated. his
collaborations with FAX label/ownder Pete Kuhlmann (Pete Namlook) are jazz,
ambient, idm orientated. other recent projects are more electronic latin
orientated, as he moved from the overcrowded and unimaginative german
electronic scene to south america. very glitchy, electronic techno-pop.
there are to many releases and projects to name. really.
uwe schmidt was doing glitch style programming many years before his
contemporaries. many have tried copying his style, but few are as
imaginative imho and his projects. he has over 100 releases. most of his
releases are limited releases, and are all worth checking out.
pop artificial should be available...glitchy idm orientated covers of pop
tunes. renderby his lassigue bendthaus moniker is early 90's electro-pop
industrial. senor coconut is uwe schmidt's latin alter ego.
uwe also uses the famous kyma capybara sound design system by symbolic sound.
with the system, he is able to design and morph complex sounds with his
powerbook.
his material is available under his RI (rather interesting) sublabel of FAX
records.
