kelly look, you have a very set opinion on v/vm, and I am not trying to change that. I am merely standing up for the other side. as you know, there is always more than one side to everything.

It is quite arrogant to assume that someone or yourself can completely 100% understand something the first time (s)he is exposed to it. They simply rejected it because they couldnot base it on any previous experiance or reference (hence the word bigot). Infact, once one person dissed blectum, all of the other listeners Joined in. As soon as the first person spoke it was established that the Domer (ND student) sub-culture rejects such outlandishly orchestrated ocataves. (http://kevin.blectum.com/msp.html) Do you comprehend the concept of cultural conditioning, or are you ignorant by choice?
quoted 5 lines Only good thing i've heard from V/VM ...>> >Only good thing i've heard from V/VM ... >> >>though it's not for everyone. >>is everything, including noise girl. > >hey kid...don't quote stuff i didn't say
Actually the above is an amalgamation of several statements in order to reflect my opinion. I am not trying to bend you all out of shape, kelly. That is not the end I intend to accomplish. However, I am trying to address issues that I have a problem understanding which is reflected not only throughout the whole "IDM Scene" but also society in general. To reject unfamiliar things that are prviously unknown and bizarre. That is why I have not responded off list. I would like to hear another's opinion on whe whole ordeal, especially if they have something totally different from what you or I have to say.
quoted 2 lines yeah, i agree. V/VM is pure crap. I saw them live.>yeah, i agree. V/VM is pure crap. I saw them live. >He just played bad 80's songs so loud that they clipped the signal
that sounds like a form of good ol noise-core to me
quoted 2 lines whil wearing a pig mask. As>whil wearing a pig mask. As >if to say, yeah you are all retarded for thinking this is great.
Although I interpret the mask as purveying the understanding of butchering sound, instead of being retarded. (which in itself is a horrible thing to say) However, Atleast you recognize that there is a method to his maddness and that he is prolly doing more than being and 80's DJ with the volume up too high...
quoted 3 lines Don't get me wrong, I love noise.>Don't get me wrong, I love noise. >I mean Merzbow is PURE GENIUS, V/VM is PURE LACK OF >ORIGINALITY and TALENT and ART.
Merzbow is also more established and more widely accepted. He has been butchering sine what '78? And is still going strong... Art is in the eye of the beholder, much like beauty. neater sound choke tutor --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
