I suppose that would be accomplished by pushing the wonderfully easy and extremely common master distortion button? Is that sarcastic enough for you? Seems to me that people can't appreciate the extremities of the musical spectrum, because they cannot understand it. Or they have some pre-determined bias, or both. Have you heard "string up your wife" from diskono2? Now that is a wonderfull rendition of a song that I heard on a regular basis for a long while. The origonal was a tune that opened this little Colledge Radio Stations Weekly electronic show, which I taped and listened to over and over again. It is nice to hear something you are sooo familiar with, but in a whole new way. Several nights ago I played the 3" Klariscopick Remedy (by kevin blectum) for some Notre Dame students. The comments I got where "Are you trying to drive us insane?" and "They locked up a retard in a room and gave him some musical instruments and this is what he came up with." And that is the level that they understood it as. nil. They did not have a clue how to even begin to process the sonic informaiton that was leaking into thier contiousness. They rejected it because it wasn't them. They had never been exposed to anything like it and therefore did not know what to think about it. People are scared of the unknown, because it prooves how ignorant they really are. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming to know everything, I too am ignorant, not by choice, but because there is only so much information that the human brain can actually store...) I directly attribute this theroy to why everyone slams the HAT 3" volumes. It forces them to listen too hard...
