Reputedley Merzbow is famous for destroying audio
equipment both in the "music" making and listening
processes. That all that noise is the result of doing
horrible stuff to recording equippment, and that
playing it back at a substantial volume can really
fuck your speakers up. Not that you would really want
to, unless you are ah sadomasochistic.It almost gets
good novelty record credit for that though, but if
Merzbow qualifies as IDM then so does n'sync, so
n'sync gets my vote for worst IDM artist(s) ever.
