I don't know if anyone else has said this, because I didnt read all fo the
abundance of posts this topic has brought up....
I don't feel that the accessibility of soft-sequencers and technology to
create music has necessarily increased the amount of bad music being made,
we just feel like there is more bad music due to the internets ability to
expose new artists, for better or worse, onto the world. There have been
plenty of people doing bad music for quite a long time but we just didnt
hear it because everyone was isolated from one another and you couldnt just
send your URL off to a list of thousands of potential listeners.
Addionally, the fact that people have created absolutely amazing music with
soft-sequencers shows that the fault is hardly in the tool, but the creator.
This alone proves the quote wrong, in my opinion.
