Hi. I noticed only one person bothered to help you out with this, and
basically said get anything. Great.
deFocus has been a favourite of mine since it's first release. Having found
out that Clair - the person responsible for the Clear label - was behind it
I bought the first Lackluster release straight away.
I've always recommended the 'did you see' compilation that was released on
deFocus not so long ago. It's very inexpensive and gives you a pretty good
idea of what the various artists on deFocus' roster sound like.
If you liked the Plus One and Lackluster albums, you should perhaps go for
the 'Reference' CD by CiM (the CD has many more tracks than the LP) and the
superb 'Warm Data' 12".
The Aphelion LP is a bit weird. It's got very arrid, dry production. It's
good, but it took a while to grow on me.
Also, try and get hold of the Lackluster 'r u oho?' remix e.p. That release
is a classic.
Hope this is of some help,
)Jamesq.
