you're visiting hong kong? the best record store is Monitor Records for idm music...vinyl & CD Address: shop U08 ug/f astor plaza, 380 nathan road kowloon T: 2782 3562 = open till 10pm most nights. the place is a small treasure trove of stuff... there's not much of a club scene in hk now except for trance..or annoying commercial disco. venues are hard to find altho i was taken to an area with lots of australians hanging out in bars - the place reminded me of north beach cause it was on some amazing hill. the british council is just about to launch a cool new website covering music incl. idm. in english. i'll find the link & post it when i can. roughguides has an ok bulletin board with experienced travellers asking about stuff. but is subject to some DISinformation. hong kong is good for finding cheap vinyl - i found a dj shadow - entroducing on vinyl in one of the hmv's - lots of shopping malls & tall buildings & i missed taking the ferry but everyone says its worth it.
