this very question came up on the ninjatune forum believe big dada answered it as 'rodney aka roots reference to himself' ..or in other words, roots is calling himself a crufatin = part of the beauty of the roots style is that he makes up words that flow with his style. who knows what it means? if we were to analyse the lyrics as we would a poem (oh dear, boring idm bit) the poet is saying look at me, i might be a crufatin but i'm fit, i'm living, i'm hopeful, i'm on a quest. if i was grading his poetry i'd give him A+ for coming up with a clever word that slurs together images of a crusty tin, a muffin, a rastafari, a crufter or a grifter and anything else your imagination wants to spin on. for more relevance (shameless plug) have a look at the video at http://www.ninjatune.net/video and ev en more OT: if you like his style the album 'run come save me' is out next monday.
