The first exposure that I had to the breakcore scene was via Alec Empire's "Destroyer" album which still rates somewhere on my top 10. I really have liked everything he has done (not counting the ATR stuff) except for one album that I am not sure if I like or not. "Nintendo Teenage Robots" is such a painful album to listen to. I appreciated the attempt at doing something different but it isn't exactly an album that I would put on at a social gathering. ...Sounds like he figured out what sounds the original Nintendo gaming machine could produce and ran with it, in a very interesting way.
