If you really hate the pads, you can replace them with something else, but
it'll change the sound of the phones. I have SR-325s, and to make them more
comfortable, I just bent the headband out. It's metal, so you can pull them out
so they barely sit on your ears (but of course, they'll fall off your head if
you bend over).
