I still have my tape copy... back when I first
discovered Wax Trax! and was enjoying all the
Artificial Intelligence stuff hitting the U.S. (first
exposure was the Afterburn comp with people like
Richard Kirk, B12 and Kenny Larkin) I picked it up on
a whim. My teenage brain was amazed at this... My
exposure at that time to electronic music was very
limited, and it sparked a little curious worm within
me... And since then though I'm not a Hawtin or
Detroit fan, I have a certain love for ambient
electronic textures.
...which makes sense why I prefer music like Boards of
Canada and E*Vax when I choose my IDM listening.
