Ok, I'm just going to own up and admit my gross incompetence when it comes
to computing. Now that we've cleared that up, I've got a question:
Just bought myself a new laptop (Compaq Presario 1700) with a CD-RW drive.
I'm trying to figure out how to run my MiniDisc into the computer, in order
to burn CDs off MDs. (Currently using Adaptec CD-burning app.) The only
line-in jack is a mic jack, though. Can I run the MD through that? I did,
heard nothing... turned up all the volumes (MD, mixer, etc.) and could hear
some signal going through, but running really hot and still almost
inaudible.
Is it a hardware problem or a software problem? Do I need a different
soundcard? Am I just a fool?
