can anyone reccomend a good mp3 recorde?- I would get a minidisc- but I'd rather just record into mp3 format- no moving parts, and nothing too dinky. thanks ya'll -----Original Message----- From: damek@earthling.net [mailto:damek@earthling.net] Sent: Friday, April 13, 2001 7:17 AM To: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: RE: [idm] mp3 discman How useful are these things in terms of playing a whole album in the correct track order from a CD-R(W) full of MP3s? Because I have all of my CDs converted to MP3 format and recorded to CD-R's. It would be nice to be able to carry around one CD for 7 or 8 albums rather than 7 or 8 separate CDs, but it seems like the current crop of MP3-CD players aren't very good at finding specific tracks or playlisting. I've heard about a couple of "next-gen" MP3-CD players that can playlist or search for tracks, but they're more expensive. And besides, considering that there's that MiniDisc-only label now, and they're releasing a MD of material from Proem in the near future, I think I need to set aside some money to buy a MiniDisc player/recorder in the near future. BTW, any suggestions for a cheap MD recorder that can easily play and record audio from my computer? i.e., not just a microphone built-in, but a line-in jack or some such? Or should I just get a cheap player so I can play MD's but continue using CDs for regular playback and storage...?
