the placidity of the crowd deserved this kind of treatment. i think the
irregularity of the dj sets led up to the insanity of autechre's
perfectly.

was very odd. the second track in particular built strongly, with intense
layered structures. very strong impression that they weren't playing back
sequences, but playing with the structures themselves. very exciting
stuff. as the gig went on it got stranger and stranger, random elements
taking over until by the end my head had submitted to complete disarray.
the few punk rockers hanging around seemed the most in-place people there.
judging by the tempo, it was dance music, and dancing to it was pretty
amazing in itself, dancing 4:4 with random beats flying around you. but
being london most people were shoe gazing or idol worshiping.
