to me, all plaid sounds the same, and it all sounds like orbital...
what they do, is they dick around in the studio till they have a catchy
loop going and they sequence that for 32 measures, then they put in some
minor variations for another 32 measures and then they go back to the
beginning and they call that a song...
Both are good for the gimmicky value of wacky sci-fi sound design jack
off noises, but it isn't emotional powerful lyrical song material... it
is more like demonstration software for the latest new synthesizers and
wacky sounds they have come up with....
there isn't a shred of romance in either one...
They would both make good movie soundtrack music for like action and
sci-fi movies, though....
