Jon Spencer (of Pussy Galore, Blues Explosion, etc.) has been known to rock a theremin every once in a while. And there's also a guy in New Orleans that does that sort of weird laser visual instrument thing, where the lights are part of the instrument itself. I got an e-mail advertising one of his performances recently, but I cant remember the URL for the life of me. Oh yeah, and I was thinking that Vladislav Delay would be a good example of electronic/IDM that is not sequenced or quantized---from what I understand, he actually triggers a lot of the samples manually, sort of like playing the drums or something, which would make sense since I believe he has a jazz background (don't quote me on any of this though). I realized I've addressed three separate threads in one message, but I'm subscribed to the digest so I don't think I can reply to individual messages. Have a nice day everyone. --Champ Douglas
