Well, I just did my first live set on Friday (rehabilitation@theFoundry) so I'll just chuck in a few comments on this one... The way I see it, I'm not a performer. I'm there to play my tunes cuz (at the minute) no one else does. I do my best to play my tracks in a way which will fit the occasion better than the original mix, and maybe play a few exclusive tracks that are pretty good first time you hear them but wouldn't stand up to repeated plays (i.e. stuff I wouldn't release), and I'll play some stuff that I just finished the night before or something. Playing good music should be enough. However, if you're starting out, I guess you might need something extra to make the show more memorable. That's probably a fault of mine anyway. If you can make your show different and stick out in peoples minds then that's going to help you no end, but obviously, you need shit hot tunes to go with it! Oh, and if there's anyone on the list here who was at rehabilitation, let me know what you thought! I was the guy on a laptop and stuff, playing at about 10. Were any of you lot the guys that were standing behind me asking me about my set up??
