Hi all, I read the list policies and saw that any discussion that might promote piracy is disallowed. I wrote a piece of software that would allow us to have not just a discussion forum, but a file-sharing one too, and I wanted to advertise it here. I don't because of the rules, but my dilemma is this -- IDM is a pretty esoteric genre that I would never have been introduced to unless I've been downloading mp3s. It's not the sort of music you're very likely to get introduced to watching MTV or listening to the radio. Ever since I discovered IDM a year ago (first CD I bought was Aphex Twin's Richard D. James) I kept my fascination with it alive by finding associations to new artists on allmusic, downloading their stuff on Napster and buying whatever of it I liked. I bought over 50 CDs in the passing year, more than I have in my entire life before that. How do you feel about the issue? Did downloading mp3s make you buy more IDM or was it just the cheap way out for you? Cheers, Nir
