Hey Greg,
Unless they've relocated, I have good reason to believe they're from either
Detroit or not far from there - midwest usa, maybe. About a year and a half ago
I picked up a self-issued CD at Neptune Records in Royal Oak, Mi. called
"Dequindre Caniff" - which is a combination of two Detroit steet names. The CD
was sans art but had an email addy on the disc itself. I liked it, so I emailed
them and had several discussions wherein they told me that they were
negotiating with a big "buzz" label- the name of which they weren't at liberty
to reveal and that said label was interested in releasing something by
them...they DID say that it would be recorded under the name "Alder & Elius"
and that they weren't sure if/when it would be released. I'm trying to recall
specifically (w/o luck), but I'm fairly certain this would have been in the
Fall/Winter of 1999. I do remember mentioning it on the list a few times and I
think I sent the Lancebot a copy of it. It may have been '98...but I know the
first Alder & Elius on SKAM didn't hit the racks for at least 6 months or so
after I was talking with them or maybe longer. Anyway, I seem to recall from
our email volley that they were either from Detroit or else the midwest.
