anyway, i'm sure he's old news to many of you, but, you know how it
is when you catch on to these things...if anyone has any Robert Hood
recommendations, resources or news, i'd be grateful to receive them.
As far as Rob Hood goes, i recomend first locating the Internal Empire lp on
Tresor. I think it's still in print.
I would stay away from the Vision lp, it's not indicative of what Rob Hood
is about, and sounds really dated IMHO.
Try to find the Nightime World Vol. 1 cd/lp as well, i think it's a great
album as well. It's on Cheap.
After that, i would just try to find whatever 12" are currently available or
laying around certain record stores in the U.S.
There is a brand new Population 12" out on M-Plant, and i think it's one of
the best things he has done lately. Try emailing Record Time in Detroit, or
Submerge, and also check Temple and Sonic Groove in NYC. I found a few Rob
Hood 12" at Temple the last time i was in Manhattan. As far as finding the
older M-Plant stuff, slim pickings these days. Having worked for Record
Time and 7th city, i know there is no backstock of old Rob Hood laying
around in Detroit. He hardly ever re-presses as well.
Try the 12" on Transmat also, and i believe Rob Hood just did a 12" for some
European label about a couple of months ago, but i don't remember what it
was called.
Hope this helps.
Keith
