Maybe it's just hip-hop influence in general, not BoC's one.There's a lot of hip-hop influenced stuff now and I think it's just because a new genration of musicians came, they got more inspiration from late 80s - early 90s hip-hop (while the 'previous generation' was more industrial influenced). And it started rather from Push Button Objects than from BoC. Boards of Canada just became a stereotype of 'hip-hop influence IDM band' because they are the most popular (and they're popular just because their music is great, no doubt :).
